Programmes that monitor and nurture wellbeing are essential and at Springfield Healthcare we have dedicated wellbeing & activities teams, in each home, to support residents and help them to be active, feel engaged and to encourage everyone to participate in the many activities on offer. We offer a variety of meaningful activities that promote sensory stimulation (art, music etc..), reflection and relaxation which all play a part in preventing mental health issues and promoting wellbeing.

We understand that wellbeing is individual to each persons experience and any interventions must be tailored to account for individual cognitive and physical capacity and their preferences. We regularly have meetings with residents to discuss what other activities they would like to be offered, this allows us to understand their wishes and needs and to provide more person-centred care for every individual.

Over recent months, wellbeing has been even more important, as visits from loved ones have sadly been limited. We have worked tirelessly to support Skype calls, Facetimes and when possible, garden and room visits and ensure that we could facilitate ways for residents to keep in touch with loved ones.

Telephone and FaceTime Appointments

We have successfully been using Skype and Facetime to connect residents with their loved ones, as well as keeping them involved in their local communities through online streaming and live events!

Send your messages and photos to our wellbeing phones

As you may be aware, we have a wellbeing mobile on every community, so that you can send updates (as regularly as you’d like) to your relatives and loved ones). We will print these out, and share with them and send you their responses.
